IGas Energy, the UK’s leading onshore oil and gas company, is pleased to announce it has received the President’s Award, which is for ten consecutive years of Gold Awards, for its health and safety performance in the prestigious annual scheme run by the Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents (RoSPA).

The internationally recognised RoSPA occupational Health and Safety Awards, is one of the most sought-after awards from a range of organisations. Judges consider entrants’ health and safety management systems, including practices such as leadership and workforce involvement.

IGas has been producing oil and gas onshore for several decades. It is committed to conducting its operations in a safe, secure and environmentally responsible manner, to providing healthy and injury free workplaces for its employees and contractors and to being a good neighbour in the local communities within which it operates.

Stewart Reast, Director of HSE, commented, “Over the last year, we achieved zero Lost Time Incidents. Our performance was primarily due to an even greater focus on our safety culture and practices by our leadership team and operations personnel, who continue to promote a safety culture that is embedded in the workforce. Receiving this award proves our ongoing commitment to continuing to raise HSE standards.”

Julia Small, RoSPA’s Head of Awards and Events, said, “To win an award at such a highly regarded event as the RoSPA Awards is a great achievement for our winners. It recognises their commitment to maintaining an excellent health and safety record and raises the bar for other organisations to aspire to. We offer them our congratulations.”
